Friendship of Gold

I consider myself blessed to have such a wonderful friend. We have laughed and cried together. We have supported and celebrated each other. Our friendship has survived life's trials and the test of time.

My mom told me early in life that friends would come and go. But to find one true friend would be like gold.

As the poem states....Make new friends, but keep the old. Some are silver, the other ones gold.
To My Friend of Gold, Penny. I love you and thank you for just being you.

The top picture was one of my first photos taken with my digital camera while trying to figure it out. Which by the way, was an anniversary present from my husband right before my Alaska trip last summer to see Jamie. Since I am new at this I wanted to try my hand at munipulating pictures.

The Wanderer

This little guy was found by my husband in the street, out in front of our house. He is an Eastern Box Turtle. Maybe he should be called "Lucky" because he is not the type of the creature to be found in my neighborhood, especially alive and not as road pizza. He was a pretty cool subject. He really didn't know what to make of me snapping picutures at him, but he did pose for this one. Then he high tailed it away from me. I am not sure if he found his way home, I sure hope so.

Guiding Light

Build in 1800, this lighthouse sits along the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. Most people would say that no two lighthouses are alike, but this one has a twin. The Tinicum Rear Range lighthouse has a shining red beacon, which I can see from my back door. The other is Tinicum Front Range lighthouse which sits just down river on the Pennsylvania side. Interesting thing is they were built way before the river was consumed with oil refineries. When people first see it they think it is an old oil drill of some kind. Little do they know.
