Guiding Light

Build in 1800, this lighthouse sits along the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. Most people would say that no two lighthouses are alike, but this one has a twin. The Tinicum Rear Range lighthouse has a shining red beacon, which I can see from my back door. The other is Tinicum Front Range lighthouse which sits just down river on the Pennsylvania side. Interesting thing is they were built way before the river was consumed with oil refineries. When people first see it they think it is an old oil drill of some kind. Little do they know.

I'm Heather, Jeff's wife. Haven't seen you in a while! I love lighthouses too. They symbolize a homing beacon from Christ for me.

Hi, Val. I'm Amy from SC, another blogger buddy of Judy's. Welcome to the world of blogging! I hope you'll take some time to check out all of our blogs through Judy's site. We'd love for you to join in on our weekly photo challenges! Love the light house shot. I've never seen a light house that looks quite like that one. I, like the people you mentioned in your blog, first thought it was some kind of oil rig. Glad to hear I'm not the only one to make that mistake!
