Stuffed Peppers

This was my first attempt ever to make stuffed peppers. I collected many different receipes and tips from friends, family and even a nurse at the hospital while visiting my friend. I consider myself a pretty good cook so I took all of them into consideration and this is what I got. One tip I followed was after cooking the hamburger I added the rice and the water in the same sauce pan and cooked it all together until the rice was done. I would not suggest it to anyone nor would I ever do it again. As you can see there is definately to much rice. I topped them off with sauce and cheese and baked for about 40 minutes.
The finished product was absolutely delicious.

Head'n South

A few weeks ago we heard the canadian geese flying over head for the first time of the season. They are a sure sign that the cold weather is on it's way. This morning on my way to work I spotted this bunch having breakfast. They were not to keen on me and my camera, they all just turned and start walking away slowly.
You can see the fields are ready for harvest but the trees are hanging onto their green color. But not for long like the geese nature knows when it's time for change.

A Tidbit of History...

This is a small park along the Delaware river about 2 blocks from my home. It has a couple of pavillions, a playground, restrooms and park benches facing the river. It is a nice place to come and relax, let the kids play and you can watch the planes take off and land from the Philadelphia airport. Onto the history.....

On July 5, 1776, Margarett Paul, widow of John Paul & her son Benjamin Weatherby sold 96 acres of Billingsport for 600 pounds of Pennsylvania currency to the council of Safety of Philadelphia. The land was charged to congress making this the first piece of land bought by our federal government. A fort was constructed in 1777 to prevent the British Navy from entering Philadelphia.

Home away from Home

I have been on vacation for the last week playing in the woods. This is my "home away from home". Long ago we roughed it by sleeping in a tent, but the older we get the harder it is to sleep on the ground let alone trying to move the next day. The best part of camping is sitting around the fire, listening to music and the wild life around us. The chill is in the air. Fall is just around the corner and it is my favorite time of year.

Mystery Flower

This pretty pink flower sits on my
front steps. I aquired it when grammy
moved in with us a year ago. I do not
know what kind it is and she can't remember.
Anyway, can anyone solve my mystery.
I thought I had killed it, like most of my flowers.
But just recently after all summer it started
to bloom. (I like to garden but I don't have much of a green thumb) The flower does not actually have stems, it is all vines. Any guesses?
